Our next Women's Coffee is a washed process coffee from Tolima, Colombia. This coffee has a classic Colombia coffee taste: smooth body, chocolate, orange and nut notes with lots of sweetness. 

This coffee comes from a new importer that we are working with. Not only do WE donate $1 from every bag sale to a women’s project in the community, but this coffee supports the Margure coffee project in Colombia to help women coffee farmers as well. 

The Margure Project is a collaborative project with CAFISUR (the producer cooperative), Expocafe (Colombian exporter), The Government of Canada, and NJ Douek (our coffee importer). The project works with 40 women producers at the co-op to provide approaches and habits that will reduce water consumption and waste water in coffee farming. The project also offers farming data support for its members. The project helps the women set up systems to reduce their water use and to properly treat the used water so it can be safely released back into the environment.

WE AREN’T CLAIMING TO BE EXPERTS, YET.

We can’t sit here and preach that we’ve mastered the art of roasting, nor can we say that we know all there is to know about the coffee industry- the truth is, that type of knowledge is achieved over many years of hard work, dedication and constant love for coffee. We are however passionate, daring and eager to soak up every bit of coffee knowledge we can get our hands on, to produce a great, complex, memorable cup of coffee for YOU (and our team of course).

So we may not be experts yet, but the truth is- this journey wouldn’t be nearly as fun if already were anyway.
